DAY 1

We spend the morning learning all about horses, in particular about the horses we will be riding - Peruvian Paso Horses. A video of the Peruvian Paso horses will be shown in the auditorium of the Hotel Sol & Luna.

We learn how to communicate with our mounts using spiritual horsemanship techniques similar to those used by the famous Horse Whisperer. By developing an empathy with your horse you will be able to understand how to treat him, get the most from him, and of course, enjoy your riding much more! We look at the practical aspects of horse keeping - stable management, grooming, feeding and their general well being. We have a basic riding course in the safety of our corral, followed by lunch, served at the charming hotel Sol & Luna, only a a short walk from the riding center.

In the afternoon we put into practice what we have learned and enjoy an easy 2-hour ride through the beautiful valley of Urubamba. This gives you the chance to become further acquainted with your horse and develop confidence in the saddle.

The late afternoon is spent grooming and feeding the horses before relaxing with a hearty BBQ and a celebratory beer! And then back to Sol & Luna Hotel for a good night's rest. Relax, enjoy a hot shower and soak up the tranquility of the Sacred Valley.

DAY 2

After a filling breakfast we must groom and feed the horses. Then we can enjoy a 4 to 5 hour ride up the valley to a trout farm. Here, for lunch, we eat a local speciality-fresh trout! The ride is by a comfortable route, ideal for novices, and the views are phenomenal. Late in the afternoon we return to the riding stables for a cold beer or fresh juice.
